Paper Love – Knots and Kisses Wedding Stationery
Posted: November 18, 2011 Filed under: Paper love | Tags: knots and kisses, vintage wedding stationery, wedding invitations, wedding stationery Leave a comment »Hello again you lovely folk!
Today we’re chatting to Nikki from Knots and Kisses who offers beautifully designed wedding stationery. We love her wonderful eclectic style and the way that she uses a wide variety of lovely materials to create her designs.
Who are you and what do you do?
My name is Nikki Ward and I am the owner and designer behind Knots & Kisses Wedding Stationery.
I aim to provide fun and vintage inspired wedding stationery for brides and grooms who want something that stands out from the crowd on their wedding day, whether that be one of my off the peg ranges or a fully bespoke invitation.
Describe your company in only 3 words…
Vintage, Eclectic, Fun
What makes you special/different from other’s in the same field?
I aim to offer a great personal level of customer service on top of my passion for creating vintage style stationery. If a client doesn’t feel they can email or ring me at any point to discuss their stationery then I’ve failed in my job!
I also offer a fully bespoke service so if clients love my style but don’t see anything perfect for them on the website I’ll work with them to create a invitation that suits them perfectly!
How did you come up with the name?
I hate to admit it but it was actually my other half who came up with the name! I’d been throwing loads of ideas around for ages and just couldn’t decide and when he said Knots & Kisses I just thought it was perfect … it was fun, but still reflected the wedding industry.
What inspires you?
I am obsessed with all things vintage … old metal coffee shop signs, vintage jewellery, 1920′s corsets, antlers … pretty much anything. This has always inspired my artwork and has gone on to inspire the wedding stationery here at Knots & Kisses. I’ll often take inspiration from a certain era or a certain style. Stationery in the past has been inspired by everything from vintage circus flyers to Botanical Drawings seen at the National History museum.
What’s your favourite Critter, and do you have any critters of your own?
I don’t have any pets but would love a big chocolate Labrador in an ideal world!
And finally… anything else you’re itching to tell us?
My new website launched on the 31st October and it includes 2 brand new ranges ‘Sketch’ and ‘Storybook’ !

Thank you Nikki – it’s been lovely talking to you! We love your work, especially the new Storybook range, and the new website is fantastic!

Treats on Friday – Splurge or Save
Posted: November 18, 2011 Filed under: Treats on Friday | Tags: cuffs, stylish wedding, wedding accessories, wedding style 1 Comment »Happy Friday critter friends!
Every Friday we’ll be choosing a fab wedding day accessory and searching for our favourites – as you can imagine, Eva has expensive taste, whereas BB is a little more sensible.
This weeks chosen accessory is a chic and stylish cuff – here are our favourite finds…
Eva’s Choice – Splurge
Eva says…
“This stunning cuff from Dannijo at Net a Porter is the perfect accesory for a modern and stylish bride – it has a little sparkle whilst still remaining edgy and cool. It’s priced at £510, so you might have to wait until payday to treat yourself to this gorgeous piece of statement jewellery”
BB’s Choice – Save
BB Says…
” Oh I so love this wonderful cuff from Karen Millen at Asos. The simple lattice design is really chic and stylish but still looks feminine and pretty. It’s a snip at only £45 (reduced from £75) so snap it up before it’s gone!”
Which cuff do you prefer?

Posted: November 1, 2011 Filed under: Supplier love 1 Comment »We love a bit of sparkle, so Flo & Percy were one of the first suppliers that came to mind for a supplier feature. We adore their beautiful tiaras, hair accesories and jewellery that are created and inspired from vintage jewellery and components.
We asked Kirstie & Julie a few questions to find our a bit more…

Kirstie Taylor – Head Designer the one who designs and creates the magicJulie Hudson – Marketing Manager the one with the computer and the calculator
Describe your company in only 3 words…

What makes you special/different from other’s in the same field?
We were the first company to reconstruct vintage jewellery into headpieces, making one off designs, since then we have created 5 further vintage inspired collections of our own.
How did you come up with the name?
Florence and Percy were married for 80 years and held the record for the longest marriage in the world. May the Flo & Percy piece you purchase bring you the same luck, health and happiness that they shared.
Florence & Percy on their wedding day…
What inspires you?
Firstly we are inspired by vintage jewellery but now as time has gone on we are heavily inspired by mainstream fashion
What’s your favourite Critter?
Our favourite critter is our dog Percy named after Flo & Percy who is the most annoying dog in the world but we love him!
And finally… anything else you’re itching to tell us?

Danny and Dylan – an adorable and fun London Wedding
Posted: November 1, 2011 Filed under: Real weddings 4 Comments »When this wedding from Elly Mac Photography landed in our inbox we were over the moon – it’s exactly the kind of wedding we had been imagining featuring on our blog – its cute, fun and packed full of love, happiness and smiles.
Gorgeous red head Danny (whose hair we are in love with) and her groom, Dylan, wanted a fun and casual wedding, and chose to hold it at fabulous London wedding venue, Star & Garter, which overlooks the River Thames and is steeped in history, making it a cute a quirky venue which suited the couple’s day perfectly!
Danny wore a gorgeous dress from Vivene of Holloway, which she customised with pretty brooches from Accesorize. We love how she teamed her dress with a relaxed and pretty hair style and those adorable dolly style T bar shoes.
They decorated the venue with cute little items which added to the fun element of the day, such as moustache photo props, paper pinwheels and yummy ice creams and DIY cupcakes.
The cobbled streets and River Thames made the perfect backdrop for some stunning photographs of the happy couple…
They even encountered a little critter along the way… cute isn’t he?
We love this wedding and wish Danny & Dylan lots of happiness!
